Whispering Winds grew from a stubborn dream: to craft high-concept architecture that respects the cedar canopy of Canada's wild west coast.
Whispering Winds was founded by an independent architectural collective in search of absolute escape. Disturbed by the crowded, bright-lit designs of modern resorts, we sought to build shelters that tucked humbly under ancient cedar canopies rather than overtopping them.
We partnered with regional carpentry specialists in British Columbia. Every piece of Douglas Fir and Western Red Cedar was sourced exclusively from sustainable local woodlots. Our unique framing stands on hidden micro-pilings, ensuring the roots of nearby 500-year-old trees remain fully untouched.
No motorized vehicles, leaf blowers, or bright neon billboards. The natural symphony of Vancouver Island reigns absolute.
Every building follows strict passive energy principles, drawing warmth from the earth and sheltering local species.
We live on-site, providing honest hand-brewed botanicals and coastal navigation tips based on deep personal familiarity.
Return home to the silence of Vancouver Island. Reserve a private cabin designed for absolute, undisturbed human perspective.
